With the constant skyrocketing sales among used Japanese car brands and manufacturers, it is no hidden secret that the Japanese manufacturers pride themselves in the quality of the cars, trucks, sport utility vehicles, and even motorcycles they produce. Although they do provide an abundance of different vehicles, they are always more concerned with the quality of their vehicles first.
Toyota, Honda, and Nissan are the three Japanese vehicle manufacturers that top the charts in the overall quality of their vehicles. A survey was performed among many different vehicle manufacturers which proved the quality behind and within Japanese vehicles. Toyota, Honda, and Nissan ranked numbers one through three. Subaru and Mitsubishi, two other manufacturers based in Japan, ranked numbers seven and nine. Ranked eleven and thirteen were Isuzu and Suzuki. So, among the top fifteen highest quality vehicles currently manufactured, seven out of the fifteen on the list were Japanese manufactured vehicles.
The biggest and most well-known reason as to why Japanese vehicles are noted as having such outstanding quality is due to how technologically advanced they are in Japan. Since Japan is so technologically advanced, they use their technology in manufacturing their vehicles as well. It is a well-known fact that many very popular inventions come from the country of Japan. While keeping that in mind, so many vehicle advances also come from Japan as well.
So, although there may be many Japanese manufacturers that offer several different vehicles ranging from cars, sport utility vehicles, trucks, and even motorcycles; their main focus has always been and will always be quality. It their eyes it is always quality over quantity. They would much rather have twenty outstanding vehicles than one-hundred average vehicles. The proof quite obviously lies within the survey of the top quality vehicle manufacturers from around the world, which included seven Japanese manufacturers
Getting your license in Japan, can either be a complex and taxing experience or relatively easy depending on a couple of factors.
If you already have a driving license from your home country that can make matter simpler but only if you are from the right country.
You can drive in Japan for up to a year using an international driving permit if you are from one of the countries that are listed in the Geneva Convention of 1949. Several countries, including; Belgium, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy and Taiwan, issue permits based on different conventions. Those permits are not valid in Japan.
If you are from one of the countries mentioned above, then you can drive for up to a year in Japan, if you get an official Japanese translation of your driver’s license from the Japanese Automobile Federation (JAF) or from your embassy or consulate in Japan.
If your country provides an international driving license not recognized in Japan, then I’m afraid you are left with no choice but to, pass the Japanese driving test.
If you are particularly lucky however and come from one of the following countries; Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Then you can get a Japanese license without having to take the written or practical exams, which is nice. All that’s require is that you go to the local license centre, with an official translation of your driving license, take an eye test and prove that you lived for at least 3 months in the country the license was issued after receiving it.
